These spacious new studios are built to the highest standards, there are three studios for 2 / 3 people, two large single beds and a sofa bed.
There is also an apartment for 4 / 5 people with a separate bedroom
The units are fully air-conditioned but also have open fires for the cooler off season nights.
Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen, with cooker, microwave, fridge / freezer and plenty of storage space.
The shower / utility room is large and well appointed with shower, toilet and washing machine.
There is TV, DVD and CD player in all units
Each unit has large sliding doors with mosquito covers, leading out onto the south facing balcony.
All four units and balconies have a stunning view of the Lybian Sea and islands of Paxamidia and Gavdos (the most southerly part of Europe).
The studios are owned by Vagelis and Mando Paterakes (Πατεράκης).
Vagelis and Mando have a small farm and a young daughter called Maria. Vagelis is also the Local Licensed Raki maker for the nearby Village of Akoumia.
Raki is the Cretan grape spirit, well known to lovers of Crete.
The two nearest Beaches are the unspoiled Triopetra or Akoumia beaches (small and large), both beaches are well equipped with small Tavernas.
Within easy reach are the beaches of Ligres and Fotini both with their unique characters and small tavernas.
Also close by is the small harbour of Agios Pavlos, again with a small collection of bars and tavernas. At all of these places you will find a warm welcome from the Cretan people.
Southern Crete is known for its unspoiled and isolated beaches, it is a paradise for those who have found it.

Directions: From Heraklion take Chania / Rethymno road, after about 60 km at Rethymno take the road south to Timbaki / Spili, go through Spili and as you come into the village of Akoumia take a right signposted to Triopetra. The road is a little narrow through the village but widens out on the other side. Paterakes Studios are on the right after about 8 km of winding road.
From Chania take the road to Heraklion / Rethymno, after about 50 km take the Timbaki / Spili road as above. For Sat Nav the Co-ordinates are:-
